A Walk to Remember is about how two people's different worlds collide in an unexpected and bitter sweet way. Jamie Sullivan is a religious girl that carries a bible in her hand every day, wears her beautiful brown hair in a formal bun and wears a brown cardigan. People don't give a second look to her. If she doesn't scare them away, her father definitely does. Hegbert is Jamie's protective father that is also a pastor for a church. Then Landon Carter is a boy who likes to have fun with his friends and has a wealthy powerful father in Congress. He has anything he could possibly need. When Jamie asks Landon to play the character of Tom Thornton in the play at her church, both of their lives are changed forever. They both realize their love for each other, but it doesn't last long enough. Sadly, Jamie was diagnosed with Leukemia in Autumn. This deeply wounds both of their hearts as she is suffering through her disease. In the very end Landon gives Jamie what she has been aching and dreaming for, her dream wedding. With the support of her father, she is walked down the aisle to Landon in a church full of people.
I think that A Walk to Remember is the closest to Tragedy even though in the beginning it is normal. But, it has a rise to power when their relationship is going well. The tragic flaw is when the Leukemia is really starting to have some effects. Then the tragic fall is when she is late in her sickness. In the very end, Jamie dies.
Wow, I didn't know it ended like that, I am definitely going to read it.
