Quote Analysis Farenheit 451 "Burning Time"

"The sun burnt every day. It burnt Time. The world rushed in a circle and turned on its axis and time was busy burning the years and the people anyway, without any help from him. So if he burnt things with the firemen and the sun burnt Time, that meant that everything burnt!"

The world around them is burning; people are burning away and being left to ashes.  Some it’s literal and others it’s figurative.  Their entire culture is being stripped of its individuality and being burned.  No one is whole anymore!  People are regulated and can’t enjoy the simple things of life.    As time is being “burned away” people are getting more controlled and not even realizing it.  The earth is “rushing in a circle” because so many people have barely enough space in their schedule to even breathe.   All the people’s lives are going by so fast it’s as if the earth is rotating faster and faster; in a sense the days are shorter and so are people’s lives.  The firemen burn knowledge and as time goes on, more of this is going on.  The sun isn’t really burning anything, but as each sunset dies and as the dawn is born, life is becoming more and more prohibited.

This quote is very important to this book because it tells about how as time goes on; more of this activity is going on.  It’s being accepted too!  Children are being born into a culture like this and life is known just as that.  It also brings up the firemen burning things, which is a very important factor in this book.
